An exceptional place for children and families
Aurora Pediatrics (PPECC) is a daycare, nursing and therapy center serving families with medically fragile babies and children. Our mission is to operate a network of community-focused, managed childcare facilities with an emphasis on the holistic health and growth of the children. We’ll utilize an individualized Plan of Care that sets measurable goals, tracks progress and communicates with parents about the growth path for their children. Key areas of focus will be clinical care, therapy services, and educational activities. We want to help kids expand their quality of life while allowing parents to go back to work, confident that their special-needs child is cared for by a team of highly trained professionals dedicated to their betterment. TX Medicaid covers the services and they are free for qualified families.

FAQ
Questions and answers
PPECC stands for Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center. We are a pediatric extended care center that services children in our center for up to 10-12 hours a day.
Any child that currently is receiving extended care in their home will mostly likely qualify for services with our center or any child with a condition or diagnosis that requires skilled nursing care. Common diagnosis of patients admitted may include: seizure disorders requiring medications, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, cardiac (heart) disease, respiratory disease, spina bifida, etc. Or your child could have technological issues that require nursing care such as: trachs, g-tubes, ventilator, cpap, apnea monitor, catheters, wound care, IV/port care, etc. If your child qualifies for private duty in home nursing care they will qualify for our services as well. We can be an alternative to nursing care in the home or share nursing care hours with your current private duty nursing.
Children enrolled must have doctor’s orders called a Plan of Care. This gives us permission to care for your child. We can contact your doctor for you to get the needed information. We will ask you to sign a release of information to enable us to get the information from your child’s doctors.
We accept Medicaid (primary or secondary) as well as the Managed Care Programs
Typically, it takes approximately 2 weeks to get the orders from the doctor and get the approval from the insurance company. We can get a urgent admission which could take approximately 48 hours.
Your child will be assigned a skilled pediatric nurse and a nurse assistant. The nurse will perform any procedures ordered by you childs’s doctor. Each child is assessed on arrival and throughout the day with vital signs, weight checks etc. We will coordinate with the doctors and report any abnormal findings allowing your child to get the medical care they need as soon as possible to help prevent further complications or hospitalizations.
